Another commission from AC'07. The request was fairly broad, somewhere between a portrait and a scene. As 'steampunk' and 'magic and technology' was listed as possible themes, that's what I decided to go with. Not sure if I like the colors on this one, but then, it was also when I transitioned from CRT to LCD, and think I got to skewing the color balance...

Here we are...nearly one year to the day since creating the abstrak style. Although I feel as though there is still a lot more experimentation to be done, it's developed a fair amount since those initial spirals. One of the largest changes would have to be an infusion of 'personality' from otherwise distant abstraction. While I'm still trying to keep to the ground rules, there are now two different ways that I can approach smaller works. Aside from that, I'm also starting to overlay lines and gradients to lend a sense of depth. Above are future AC badges for Nevar and Kigeni...

Introduction of the style to conventions, and one of the first full-page commissions. It's quite likely the most intricate scene I've done yet, and probably the most recognizable. The technique has changed quite a bit since June, yet the 'rules' are still very freeform and open to sporadic revision. That can be irksome in a way, because there's no certain progression or certainty to it...

The "new" Abstrak form. As ever, a progressive style...or, a style in constant progress. This is probably one of the first I've created just for the sake of it (aside from the earlier Chaos) I need a tool to better render larger arcs. And I'd lost my oversized template somewhere in my last move...
